“Sacred Daughter sat with Divine Mother"

“Sacred Daughter sat with Divine Mother beside the spinning wheel. She bemoaned her clumsy hands that could not spin or weave or sew the Tapestry of Life to the perfection that she sought. She sighed aloud so much, that in the end Mother leant down and stroked her cheek...

‘My daughter,’ she whispered softly, ‘What saddens you so?’

Daughter looked to her beautiful mother and said, ‘I cannot make the Tapestry as beautifully as you, and I do not have the gifts of my sisters.’

Softly smiling, and with a gentle laugh, Divine Mother stood from her place at the spinning wheel… she looked around the room at needle and thread and loom, and paints and brushes, harps and various musical instruments. Pausing for a moment, she looked to Sacred Daughter… ‘I can offer you any and all of these tools, just as I can give you a kettle of water. But I cannot give you the fire to warm that water or to use those tools. That gift is yours to nurture, you must ignite and nourish the flame of love and creation within… So my daughter, what calls to your fire?’

Daughter looked around the room, and saw nothing that sparked her creative flow, she had tried everything. But the doorway that sat to the side of the round room, now that called her. The window beside it revealed a deep midnight sky and a moon passing through her cycles. But it seemed to miss something...

She looked deep into her mother's eyes, ‘I want to dance… I want to let my body flow, to let my feet speak... and to light up the fabric of the universe with love, passion and joy.’

Divine Mother smiled broadly, ‘Then you have found your Magical Doorway. It was not your hands birthed to place a stitch in time, but your feet born to weave the stars.’

The Doorway opened and Daughter stepped towards it. Gratefully she hugged Divine Mother, and turning to the magical portal, she leapt into the sky and began to dance her own melody of wild starlight and ecstatic love.”
