Outstanding Inventions by Indian Saints
India is known to be the land of Saints and Gods. The country is filled with various types of discoveries, inventions and magical things.Before the genesis of our culture and society, our ancients already wrote ‘Granths’, ‘Vedas’ and other spiritual books about the world and its existence, which they have learned from years of regards and Yoga.
In ancient times, various saints after doing years of hard meditation, found the secrets hidden in the ‘Vedas’ and came out with such amazing inventions that shocked the kings of those times as well. These inventions, later, came to be known as modern science.Note: Acharya Sushruta's work was later translated to Arabic language and gradually passed on to European countries.
He used a curved needle and removed the cataract by pushing the lens. The eyes were then immersed inwarm butter and were properly covered until they were completely healed. People from far off countries came to India to seek treatment.In modern times, the credit of discovering law of gravity is given to Newton.
However, hardly a few people know that discovery of gravity was first made by Indian saint Bhaskaracharya.In ancient India, when people were succumbed to illness and diseases like obesity, diabetes, etc. Acharya Charak contributed in diagnosing these and provided Ayurvedic solutions. He has described the influence of our diet and physical activities over our mind in his book, ‘Acharya Samhita’.For the present generation, yoga is one of the famous physical activities. It is the method to findpeace and fitness by following easy steps. These yoga postures were thousands of years ago by Acharya Patanjali to keep your respiratory, digestive and other systems fit.
In modern times, the Wright Brothers invented the airplane. However, according to Hindu religious beliefs, Saint Bharadwaj had invented through his Vayushastras, an equipment that could vanish an airplane. He had also revealed the secrets of travelling from one planet to the other.It is quite interesting to know that the Atomic theory that we are studying now originated 2500 years back by Acharya Kanad. He stated that “the Anu is an indestructible jot of atom”.
Years later, in 1766 – 1844, John Dalton described the same theory of atom.We can’t do mathematics without ‘0’ as it plays a crucial role in arithmetic. The Hindu academic Aryabhatta, who was a great mathematician and an ace astronomer, contributed towards the invention of ‘0’ in ‘Aryabhatta’s Bhakshali’ manuscript and thus zero came into existence.
